Looking For Great Events In New York City?

It certainly has reached high temperatures these past few days, and the indications are that August will be more of the same. This is an excellent forecast for New York City happenings since the city is packed with excitement for one and all. Whether you are visiting the city or are a native New Yorker, you'll need to get out your planner so that you can write down and choose which of the large variety of events will most interest you.

No matter where you travel, no place can equal the energy and spirit that you will experience in New York City. The United Nations contains representatives from every nation in the world! represented in the city, making it a melting pot of cultures resulting in events and activities targeting every mix of society. Therefore, if there's something special that you are looking for, you are likely to find it in NYC. Even better, a few of the best New York City events will cost you nothing this summer. Some of the most popular of these free happenings are Central Park concerts, film screenings in Bryant Park, art exhibitions throughout the city, and dance classes in Prospect Park.

Personally, I have my own must-see list of New York City happenings that cannot be missed this summer. The first of the top five is to see Rent on Broadway in Bryant Park. Listen to the characters sing about living in the East Village. Number two on the list is Rooftop Films, an even more unique spin on films screened outdoors. There are an assortment of venues in Brooklyn where these can be found. The third is SummerStage in Central park. You can watch some of the most popular acts each Sunday in the summer months. New York Philharmonic performing live in all 5 boroughs, I saw the performance in Central Park and it was excellent. The fifth must-see event is the United States Tennis Open, where you can get 14 days of complete coverage.
